Hello to all of you who have made resolutions over and over to lose weight.

There IS help available!

 

H.O.P.E.

begins again in January 2011 from 10:am to noon

 

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health,

just as your soul prospers.  (3 John 1:2)

 

H.O.P.E. is a Christian support group meeting weekly to focus on health & losing weight. 

 

Therefore …let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,

who for the joy that was set before Him endured….

 (Hebrews 12:1-2)

 

HOPE stands for Healthy Options Providing Education (& Pursued w/Endurance)

or more informally Help in Offing the Pounds Effectively!

 

Yes, we use a powerful method to regain our health and appearance–our forks!

 

Learn a way of eating that supports optimal health.  It is supported by the bulk of scientific data available…but it isn’t widely known.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  (Hosea 4:6)

 

Our Creator has made our bodies to heal themselves, without drugs, IF we learn how to properly feed our ‘wonderfully and fearfully made’ bodies.

 

Although there are numerous plans out there to take your money (and often your health), they usually only deliver short-term results when it comes to weight loss.  

 

We will be pursuing the McDougall plan (although we also recommend the Hallelujah Diet if your health is in severe immediate jeopardy.).

  

The McDougall website has a wonderful forum for online discussion and support, helping you to stick to the plan.  The site also has stories of people just like you (called Star McDougallers) who were sick and/or fat and have been transformed physically since beginning the program.

 

To understand this way of eating, read books by the following authors:  Dr. T. Colin Campbell (The China Study), Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease), or Dr. John McDougall and Dr. Neal Barnard’s multiple books.  These books explain why eating a certain way contributes to your health and well-being.
