"He [Jesus] became poor that through His poverty, we who were poor might become rich" This drawing is meant to capture this scripture, Christ is on the top left, who Created the world, humbles himself and comes down to earth, dies and rises again, that we (symbolized by the drunk wife beater in the bottom left corner), could repent and be made alive, and become spiritually rich now and have an abundance in heaven
The words upon the church building represent a lot of people’s experience, presuppositions and thoughts concerning the church and Christians, this forms a wall that blinds them from seeing the beauty of God’s character, and genuine Christianity. Also, the world has its own set of signs all promising fulfillment and pleasure, and most everyone in the world is going that way. So no wonder most run from Christianity. Even the people in the church are going out the side door and going back to the world. But I have experienced people who really know God, they are humble, honest, gentle, generous, they have a interest and love for people, they are accepting and kind. They enjoy praying, they get excited about God and they are real, passionate and wise, they show God to be attractive. So many people I have talked with who have really be transformed by the Lord, share how it was in part because their of experience with a genuine Christian, which them see beyond the wall.
