Bright and early on a hot, humid summer day, I took the tools and dump trailer to a house where a team was gutting and then came back home and helped put up siding on one of our buildings. I went back at the end of the day and I spent 15 or so minutes trying to balance out the dump trailer, because there was a bit much plaster loaded on the back end, but I gave up and started to drive to the landfill.
Right after going up the on-ramp and merging on to the busy highway, my truck start fish-tailing, swerving into one lane and then into the other. I did not know what to do and committed the cardinal sin and tried to slow down. The truck ended up jackknifing during rush hour traffic; yup the truck spun completely around were I was facing the masses, the trailer crashing into the truck stopped the truck right before hitting the cement guard-railing. It was not a fun feeling to see I was covering two lanes and a shoulder, with a quivery voice I dial 911 and stepped out to see the traffic jam that I was responsible for.
Everytime I thought about it, I kept saying "thank you" over and again to God, cause of how blessed I was, for example it happened right before someone was about to pass me, so they were able to slow down when I started to swerve into there lane of traffic,  if it happened while they were passing me, I would have taken out several cars with me and likely totaled the truck, oh man that "what if" kept me up that night.
So yeah, the other huge blessings was the amazingly nice police officers, they helped me back up the trailer and led me down the off ramp and did not give me a ticket, they were so kind and helpful. So yeah, I put a big dent in the truck, bent the front frame part of the trailer, jacked up the hitch and the bumper. And yet we were able to gut the next day! nothing overly serious happen. So needless to say I was EXTREMELY blessed.
To be honest, far to much has happened the last few weeks to even scratch the surface. So I think I'll primarily share some pictures
Getting dirty :)
Getting clean
This small team from Seattle, helped gut a house for Nelson, Debora and their son. They were wonderful. I had a quality talk with Nelson who shared with me his Katrina story. It was awesome to hear how God transformed his life, did miracles and answered prayers through Katrina. We live in such a messed up world and God's raw material that He has to work with is mostly the bad and ugly and somehow He brings forth so much good  and beauty from tragity and disaster.
